ONCE AGAIN 107.1 KGSR RADIO AUSTIN will offer the most complete
musical coverage of SXSW on the airwaves -
both prior to and during the Festival. Watch this space for the staff's
musical recommendations for the Fest shortly.
Beginning Friday March 9th be listening for :60 SXSW Updates with the
latest Festival news, airing three times a day on KGSR.
On Sunday March 11 join Jody Denberg for The KGSR Sunday Night News for
a 2 hour preview of SXSW performing artists
from 8 to 10 that evening.
On Monday March 12 Louis Black and Margaret Moser of the Austin Music
Awards join Jody Denberg at 3 p.m. for an Awards show preview.
On Wednesday March 14 KGSR's FOCUS program at 11 p.m. will present an
hour's worth of music by lesser-known bands
ripe for your discovery at SXSW
Also, beginning Monday March 12 - through Friday March 16 - KGSR In The
Morning continues its annual tradition of broadcasting live from the
lobby of the Four Seasons from 6:00 - 10:00 a.m.
KGSR in the Morning host Bryan Beck will be joined by former co-host
Kevin Phinney - who will return to the airwaves that week to interview
many filmmakers, actors and writers involved in the SXSW Film Festival.
KVUE-TV's chief weatherman Mark 'Lightnin' Murray
will also join in along with News 8 Austin's Andy Langer to host the
festivities, which will include live performances from SXSW musicians
on the half hour.
(The Four Seasons requests a $5 donation to the Shvers Cancer Center to
attend to enjoy the show as well as breakfast tacos,
juice and coffee).
The KGSR Music Lounge will play host to live performances on both
Thursday March 15 and Friday March 16, with listeners given an
opportunity to attend. Already scheduled for these "Whattya Want For
Lunch" live performances are Rickie Lee Jones (3/15)
and Steve Earle, The Greencards, and Ron Sexsmith (3/16) with more to be added to the
lineup shortly.
Jody Denberg will welcome a variety of guests to perform live on KGSR In
The Afternoon during Thursday and Friday of the Festival.
