Fans spotted murals of The Rolling Stones logo on Riverside & Congress and couldn’t help but wonder whether the band was hinting at a potential tour stop in Austin. After days of continuous teasing, The Rolling Stones officially unveiled the return of their ‘No Filter’ North American tour this summer! The last time the iconic band performed in Austin was in 2006. Now, they’re coming back this year on May 24th.
The band’s frontman, Mick Jagger, postponed the tour in 2019 to recover from his heart surgery, but looks like he is back in shape and ready to perform again.
The 2020 tour will visit 15 cities in North America and will kick off in San Diego on May 8th. The Stones will be returning to cities including Minneapolis, Nashville, Dallas, Buffalo, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and Atlanta, in addition to places they have not seen in almost ten years, like Austin, Louisville, Cleveland, Charlotte, Tampa, and Atlanta.
Tickets for these dates will go on sale on February 14th at 10AM local time, with presale codes being released earlier that week. American Express Card members have an opportunity to purchase tickets before the general public, on February 12th at 10 AM through February 13th at 10 PM. If the Rolling Stones continue to rock out like they have the past few years, expect to hear some of their iconic hits like “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” “Gimme Shelter,” and “Sympathy for the Devil.”
