This time, Donna Missal is free from the heartbreak.
Her new single, “You Burned Me” proves that there is more on the other side after a break-up, and that’s making something out of the pain. In an Instagram post, Missal opens up about the inspiration behind the candid tune. “the song is about getting your heart broken but even more about what you can make of that. rising from the ashes of shit burning down around you. it’s meant to feel like freedom,” said the alternative R&B artist.

Missal turns sorrow into an uplifting anthem. Dealing with heartbreak is unaccommodating for anyone, and if you’re currently coping with it, you need to take a listen. “You Burned Me” will definitely heal you from all your troubles. Watch the lyric video below.

Missal is over the idea of over-thinking. “i’m trying this new thing where i don’t apply any concern with what’s popularized in music now to make decisions about my own.” “You Burned Me” is a sound that didn’t come naturally for the singer-songwriter. The artist admits that her latest single is the “most vulnerable lyric [she thinks she’s] ever put out there.”
The New Jersey native is done burying these feelings away, and is ready to take on the next chapter of music with a new mindset. Donna Missal is currently sharing this side of herself with new, and current fans, on a nearly sold-out international tour with singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi.
