Artist: Sego
Genre: Indie-pop
Performance: Sunday, October 13th at 11:45AM BMI Stage
From Utah to LA, the inidie-pop band Sego knows how to make your head bop. What started as a duo with Spencer Peterson and Thomas Carroll, turned into a four-member group after they released their 2016 album Once Was Lost Now Just Hanging Around. They welcomed bassist Alyssa Davey and guitarist/keyboardist Brandon McBride in 2018, taking their sound up a notch on their second album. In an interview with The Salt Lake Tribune, frontman Peterson said that adding more members to the band “kind of pushed us into a more rock-ish territory. With more hands on deck, it’s easier to execute bigger sounds.”
Back in April of this year, the band released Sego Sucks, which was named after an online hashtag they spotted when the band formed. A band with a sense of humor is definitely worth praising, and we’re here to tell you that Sego’s sound is the complete opposite of what those harsh online “critics” tweeted. Check out one of their catchy tunes off the new record below.
