Captivating vocals, and an influential music video. The two together prove how much of a badass Bishop Briggs is.
The former ACL Fest performer continues to give it her all with her latest single, “Champion.” Briggs’ indestructible motive and declaration to “fight back” is an anthem none of us deserve, but definitely need. Her new tune rumbles with self-empowerment, and the music video unquestionably reinforces that notion. Check it out below:
Bishop Briggs – Champion
“‘Champion’ is a song that I wrote when my self-esteem was at an all-time low. As a woman, I feel like I have been socially trained to be so many things at once — sexy yet sweet, confident yet humble, independent yet submissive, smart but not too smart — the list is never-ending. Writing this song helped me look at the question — what if I could just be myself? What if there was a world where my vulnerability was what made me powerful? What if there was a day I could proudly, without hesitation, look in the mirror and say, ‘I AM A CHAMPION,’ purely because I’m choosing to be myself? ‘Champion’ is about accepting yourself today, as you are,” said Briggs.
The Kill Bill-themed storyline is to be continued. However, fans peeped Briggs’ license plate in the Chapter One music video marked “WED 7/24,” and the artist recently teased this snippet on Instagram plus a preview of what’s to come with her next song called “Tattooed on My Heart.” And now, July 24th is officially here, which means you can watch Chapter Two below.
