Friday, January 4th
Harry Potter Drive-In Film Fest: Sorcerer’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets | 7 PM | Blue Starlite Drive-In
With this chilly weather, a movie-night might sound like your cup of tea! But who says you have to stay home for that? Blue Starlite Drive-In, now located in South Austin, is hosting a Harry Potter Drive-In Fest. Enjoy a magical night with your loved ones and immerse yourself in the wizardry by experiencing it all with a magic candy shop, photo ops, and movie-themed drinks!
Austin: First Friday’s Silent Disco | 9 PM | The Infinite Monkey Theorem
Dance into 2019 at The Infinite Monkey Theorem! On the first Friday of the month, the urban winery holds a Silent Disco. You bring the moves, they provide the headphones!
Workshop: Make Some Pom Pom + Tassel Garlands | 6 PM – 8:30 PM | Craft
Need a refresher on your stitching skills? Head on over to Craft for a workshop and make your own pom pom and tassel garlands. You’ll be able to work on your stuff, create something new, or even get some help from the experts!
Saturday, January 5th
A Scottish New Year’s Chocolate Tasting | 11 AM – 6 PM | Delysia Chocolatier Culinary Center
Feel like putting your New Year’s Resolutions on hold just for this weekend? That’s okay, we won’t judge! Treat yourself to some Scottish desserts at the Delysia Chocolatier Culinary Center. With the New Year here, you can make a toast to the past with some sweet treats, and look forward to what will come next!
SHEN YUN| 7:30 PM| Long Center for the Performing Arts
Attend the Shen Yun show at the Long Center to see a story told like no other. Take a journey to the ancient times of China and learn about the classical culture through music and dance. You’ll get a closer look at the traditional culture that is being shared with the world by a group of elite Chinese artists. Tickets are also available for Friday and Sunday.
David Bowie Birthday Bash| 9 PM | Drinks Lounge
Let’s dance! Come out and celebrate the legend David Bowie right before his birthday. Booths are available to reserve, including champagne and a customized print for your booth! There will be free entry for groups of four, so all Bowie fans are welcome. And don’t forget to dress up for the big celebration! Face painting will be provided.

Yoga off the Mat: A Guided Meditation With Grow Your Lovespace | 8 AM | Space 24 Twenty
In need of some “me” time? Look no further. Sign up for this 90-minute yoga course to start off the new year right! Get in touch with yourself, all while being around a positive environment. There will be guided meditation, a tea presence ceremony and a sharing circle that will help point you in the right direction for 2019.
In Brunch We Trust: Legally Blonde| 12:30 PM | Alamo Drafthouse at the Ritz
Brunch and a movie at the same time? Yes, please! The Alamo Drafthouse at the Ritz is the holy place to go to one Sunday each month. For this Sunday, grab your friends and sip on some mimosas as you watch Legally Blonde on the big screen. And don’t forget about the delicious brunch menu, too!
Intro to Brush Lettering | 3 PM – 4:30 PM | Craft
Spend your Sunday afternoon exploring your creative side by taking a beginner’s lettering class. The course will teach you everything you need to start off with, including how to hold your brush and creating letters and shapes all while finding your own style. You’ll leave the course with a handful of skills and even a supply kit with lettering materials to practice at home.
