Oscar nominees announced for Best Original Song

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have revealed the shortlists for nine Oscar categories for 2019, including Best Original Song. This is the first time since 1979 that a shortlist has been unveiled.

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke is among the nominees for his song “Suspirium.” The song appears in the supernatural horror film “Suspiria.”

Other artists nominated for Best Original Song include Kendrick Lamar and SZA for their song “All the Stars,” which is featured in Black Panther, and Lady Gaga for her song “Shallow,” in A Star is Born.

The official Oscar nominations are scheduled to be announced January 22, 2019.
