With the release of their fourth studio album, Delta, just earlier last month, Mumford & Sons are reminding us why we fell in love with them in the first place. Reaching number 1 on Billboard’s 200, Delta has proven to be another fan favorite from the alternative rock band. With a performance on Saturday Night Live and world tour kicking off all within the same weekend, Mumford & Sons are heading into the new year in full speed.
Although this wasn’t their first time on SNL, the band brings a new feel each time they hit the stage. Warm lights shed an orange glow across as Marcus Mumford sang out to the crowd during “Guiding Light”, the first single off of the new album, and “Delta”.
On Dec. 7th, the band started their world tour at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center with every seat in the house being sold out to an anticipating, energetic crowd. Adding support during for the U.S. leg of the tour is another Austin City Limits Radio favorite, Maggie Rogers, who also came out for a surprise duet with the band during “Awake My Soul”.
Although Mumford & Sons won’t be stopping through Texas on their Delta Tour, the band is embarking on an adventurous journey until June 2019. Playing two nights at Madison Square Garden and shows sold out all across Europe, 2019 is expected to be a year full of deserving successes for Mumford & Sons.
