We’re back at Zilker Park this Wednesday for our third Blues on the Green! We couldn’t be more excited about our July line-up – starring Austin indie pop group Wild Child with jazzy R&B group Los Coast opening the show. Meet the artists and catch a sneak peek of what to expect from their live performances below:
Wild Child
Formed in Austin back in 2010 by founding members Kelsey Wilson and Alexander Beggins, the now five-piece pop rock outfit is four albums deep, with latest record “Expectations” acquiring huge hits this year, like “Sinking Ship” and “Back and Forth.” Wild Child’s sound is characterized by beautiful, mellow compositions that are in no rush to the end, with every song like a little journey the listener is invited on. The group utilizes imaginative lyrics and an impressively wide array of instruments like violin, ukulele and trumpet to achieve a particularly fervent sound. We know they’ll have the crowd fully captured and swaying along to every song this Wednesday night at Zilker Park, and we can’t wait for the special experience to see this band perform in such a special setting!

Los Coast
This Austin group describes its sound as a “punchy, psych-tinged, lyrical variety of rock and soul,” and we couldn’t have put it better ourselves. Like any great Austin band, Los Coast is a distinctly unique blend of styles and doesn’t conform to any one genre. The group was formed by front man Trey Privott and guitarist John Courtney with inspirations stemming from Gospel music, classic jazz and punk rock, as well as strong backgrounds in musical mood, texture and composition studies. Since adding bassist Megan Hartman, drummer Damien Llanes and Nat Wright on keys, the group has curated a more well-rounded sound and released two singles, they were also named one of “Austin’s Best New Acts” by the Austin Chronicle.
