Austin’s own Jackie Venson will be taking the stage at KGSR’s Unplugged at the Grove this Thursday! Venson has released four powerful, bluesy new singles this year, and we can’t wait to hear them live.
The daughter of a prominent musician in the 80’s, Jackie Venson was immersed in the world of music as a child. She studied classical piano and composition at Berklee College of Music, and began playing guitar in 2011. Just three years later, she self-released her debut album “The Light in Me,” and has since released music through her Youtube series “Truth in Music,” which features two collabs with Austin rapper KJ Hines, and several live recordings, including one with her musician Dad, Andrew Venson. Venson’s superb, smooth vocals combine with her expertise on music stylings and composition to create a soulful, sexy sound true to her Texas roots. We couldn’t be more proud to call her a fellow Austinite, and can’t wait to see her kill it on stage this Thursday!
