Noel Gallagher has unveiled a previously unreleased Oasis demo after originally thinking it was “lost forever.” In a message posted on Twitter, the singer explained how he’d stumbled across the old demo:
“Like the rest of the world I’ve had infinite time to kill lately so I thought I’d finally look and find out what was actually on the HUNDREDS of faceless unmarked CDs I’ve got lying around in boxes at home.”
The new track, titled “Don’t Stop…,” was recorded at a sound check in Hong Kong about 15 years ago and was never developed into a full studio recording. He added that only one other recording existed as a bootleg as far as he was aware.
“I know some of you love this tune, so we thought we’d put it ‘out there’ for you to enjoy/argue over.”
Fans have been anticipating an Oasis reunion for years, but the brothers have exchanged harsh remarks via social media and interviews since their split in 2009. Liam Gallagher called out his brother and former band mate, Noel, for releasing an Oasis tune without him singing on the track. He reacted on social media for all his fans to see, writing in a series of tweets:
“Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…”
“Oi tofu boy if your gonna release old demos make sure im singing on it and boneheads playing guitar on it if not it’s not worth a w*** as you were LG x”
“Well there’s something missing in this god almighty stew and it’s your brother your brother don’t forget your brother La as you were LG x.”
