BASTROP COUNTY:
The 227 total cases that have been confirmed in Bastrop County include eight new cases found just this week. The Bastrop County Health Services Department says three people have died from the disease, including one person on Friday. On the positive side, 90 people have now made full recoveries. Elgin still has the highest case count of any city in the county at 71.
COMAL COUNTY:
Comal County is reporting 111 cases, but a very large number of those are now recoveries. Public health officials say 82 patients have battled back from the health effects of COVID-19. The overwhelming majority of Comal County’s cases have been found between the age of 40 and 59. Seven people have died.
HAYS COUNTY:
212 of the 385 COVID-19 cases in Hays County have transitioned into recoveries. Since March, only 34 of those patients have been hospitalized, and there are six who are currently in the hospital because of coronavirus. Five people have died, including a man in his 80s on Monday.
TRAVIS COUNTY:
Travis County’s COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to hover in the high-90s as of Thursday morning. Austin Public Health says 98 are hospitalized and 95 have died. Ventilator usage is still very low. 3501 cases have been found in the county since March, and 1380 of them are now recoveries.
WILLIAMSON COUNTY:
Williamson County’s hospital system continues to hold steady, and as of Thursday morning there is still 50-percent bed capacity available. 78-percent of ventilators are also unused at the moment. 25 people have died, but 424 have made full recoveries. 200 cases are still active in Williamson County.
