As we face a new wave in the pandemic, we think back to the amazing job our friends at the Central Texas Food Bank have done since this scary time began. They have yet another major food distribution event happening this weekend – Saturday 10/31 from 8am to 11am at Lehman High School in eastern Kyle. Your support is still badly needed as we prepare for what could be a really rough winter: go HERE to get involved and Thank You!

I have spent the last half-decade or so kinda mad at Jon Stewart. It’s not ALL his fault, but I can’t help but notice that things really started cratering right about the time he retired from The Daily Show back in 2015. Here’s hoping he can make up for lost time with his new gig.

My friendly checkout guy at Wheatsville Co-op the other day was wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the movie poster for the John Carpenter classic The Fog, and I’ve had it on my mind since. Turns out there’s an ultra-spooky screening of the 1980 cult-classic chiller happening tonight in the cold, foggy woods around the Blue Starlite Mueller location! Seating is VERY limited – more HERE.

Belle And Sebastian are out with a new live record:

Yes, I’m a Tool fan. It can be a strange affliction. Guitarist Adam Jones is presenting his new signature Gibson Les Paul guitar (which runs almost 10 thousand bucks, really??) and has new music out too, which is almost new Tool, lacking only howler Maynard James Keenan in personnel.

And finally – very much digging a new acoustic jam from Austin’s own Mobley, which you’ll be catching on an upcoming edition of our Sunday morning Acoustic Brunch Club, I’d wager.
