Country-pop queen Kacey Musgraves is back after releasing her last album, Golden Hour, nearly three years ago, an album dedicated to her falling in love. Musgraves now returns to share a different story.

In light of her ended three year marriage to singer/songwriter, Ruston Kelly, Musgraves releases her latest album, Star-Crossed, while albeit serves as a breakup record, excludes the expected bloodletting and vengeful lyrics as seen in most breakup tracks.

Undergoing her separation, the album offers Musgraves a sense of reflection through her journey with healing, learning, gratitude and love.

“You can easily say it is a post-divorce album, which yes, it is factually on paper. But this album is full of a lot of love and gratitude for that person, for Rustin, for my life and my ability to explore all the emotions as a songwriter,” Musgraves shares with NPR

The 15 song album is labeled as a “tragedy in three parts,” with a coinciding short film, and two music videos released as of now to her singles “simple times” and “justified.”

For listeners, Star-Crossed is an accompanying record to Golden Hour, as we watch the new spark in her fourth studio record finally die out, offering the artist a sense of soul searching.

Star-Crossed is available on all music platforms. Tickets for Musgraves limited 15-city live tour, Star-Crossed: Unveiled are now available.
