Singer/songwriter Kacey Musgraves stopped by Philadelphia’s oldest gay bar, Traven On Camac, for a surprise performance. She sang Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 song “Dreams,” alongside a pianist and background singer to a small, intimate crowd. In the minute clip on @gayborhoodfamous via. Instagram, you can hear the audience cheer on Musgraves, and join her singing the “Dreams” chorus.
Wearing a mustard yellow cardigan, Musgraves’ effortlessly beautiful vocals took over the gay bar’s mic prior to her performance at the Wells Fargo Center for her Star-Crossed: Unveiled tour, which is set to keep touring until late July this year.
This surprise visit is definitely on brand for the singer. Musgraves has been a strong supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, particularly with her song “Follow Your Arrow,” that won the award for Song of the year at the 2014 Country Music Association Awards. Back in 2017, Musgraves told Billboard about how she once had a “misunderstanding” about her LBGTQ+ community, but now finds a lot in common, plus a strong love towards the community.
