Beyond Van Gogh | Circuit of the Americas | 11 AM – 11 PM

Head out to the Circuit of the Americas to check out the most immersive art experience in Austin. Visitors will move through projection swathed floors and walls wrapped in color and light. Snap some pics for the ‘Gram while you’re there and be the envy of your friends! Beyond Van Gogh is in Austin for a limited time, so grab tickets while you can!

Austin Pets Alive! Pours for Pets | Multiple Locations

Austin Pets Alive is offering the best solution for those looking to explore Austin’s food and beverage scene. With the Pours for Pets Passport, you’ll be able to enjoy a drink from 18 different spots around town. Passports are valid until the end of July. Participating businesses include Austin Eastciders, Irene’s, Yard Bar and more! Proceeds go to saving the lives of adorable cats and dogs. 

 

Kupira Marimba | Central Market (North Lamar) | 5:30 PM – 8 PM

Austin’s premier marimba band are returning to live performances with a concert at Central Market. This will be Kupira Marimba’s first public show in over a year! Grab some grub from Central Market and settle in for a FREE marimba performance.

 

Saturday, July 10th

 

72nd McDade Watermelon Festival | McDade, TX | 7 AM – 5 PM

An hour east of Austin lives the home of one of Texas’ longest running festivals. Join visitors from across the state at the 72nd McDade Watermelon Festival. Activities include a watermelon eating contest, prize melon auction, riding mower rodeo, bingo, and more! Admission to the festival grounds is free.

Fitness in the Park | Virtual | 10 AM

The Austin Parks Foundation have relaunched their series of approachable fitness classes in a virtual setting. The series, which returned back in May, features a different park and style of dance for each class. This Saturday will be the Breakdance class with music from Brownout! Tune in online at 10 AM or watch the replay anytime on their YouTube channel.

 

Family Art Workshop | The Contemporary Austin | 11 AM – 3 PM

If you are looking for a family-oriented art experience, head over to The Contemporary Austin at Laguna Gloria this Saturday! Families will be given a chance to sculpt their own version of Carol Bove’s From The Sun to Zurich. Admission is free, but reservations online are required beforehand.

 

Sunday, July 11th

 

Texas Farmers’ Market at Mueller | Branch Park Pavilion | 10 AM – 2 PM

Voted Austin’s favorite farmer’s market, Texas Farmer’s Market is a weekend classic. Enjoy artisan foods and fresh produce from local vendors and farmers. Head over to Mueller to pick up a delicious lunch and wander through the stalls.

“Cute AF” Handcrafted + Vintage Market | Cute Nail Studio | 11 AM – 3 PM

Eastside Pop Up will be taking over the parking lot of Cute Nail Studio for a vintage market! An array of local artisans, makers and vintage collectors will be on-site for your perusing. A portion of all vendor fees will be donated to Out Youth. Don’t miss out on this unique pop-up!

 

Austin Symphony Orchestra’s Concerts in the Park | Long Center Terrace | 7:30 PM

No Sunday evening is complete without the sounds of a symphony. Join the Austin Symphony Orchestra for their Concerts in the Park at the Long Center Terrace for a free performance. This weekend’s performers are the Woodwind Quintet. Bring out a blanket and snacks and cap off your weekend with relaxation!
