While you’re out, if you’re over 21, enjoy a Shiner at the Texas Independence Day celebration at Little Woodrows with live music and crawfish at the Southpark Meadows location.

Friday, March 1st

TacoTopia | S Congress Ave | 11AM-9PM

Want to spice up your Friday afternoon (pun intended)? Well TacoTopia has you covered. Explore this taco-themed interactive art installation and take a few pictures for Instagram while you’re at it. This event opens on Friday, March 1st through March 31st, so you have plenty of time to stop by!

 

Mardi Gras Party! | Whitestone Brewery | 4PM-10PM

If you’re planning on going out to eat Friday evening, why not make it festive? Mardi Gras is right around the corner, so join everyone at Whitestone Brewery for happy hour specials, a Mardi Gras themed menu and a New Orleans Jazz band to set the atmosphere!

Quiet Clubbing A-TX Style | The Northdoor | 10PM

In need of a break from those loud nightclubs, but don’t know where to go? Or maybe you just want to spend your night doing something new? Don’t worry, we’ve got your solution. Swing by The Northdoor for The Silent Disco, where the volume won’t be a problem. You’ll be provided with a pair of headphones, Glow in the Dark gear, and plenty of dance room!

Liberation & Libations | Intercontinental Stephen F. Austin Hotel | 7:30AM-6PM

In case you forgot Texas Independence Day is March 2nd. So stop by the Intercontinental to watch the annual parade! There will be live music, an auction (proceeds going to Texas Parks and Wildlife foundation) and product sampling from various Texan craftspeople. Not to mention the amazing view of the parade you’ll have from the balcony, so it’s well worth it!

 

It’s My Park Day | Austin, TX (various locations) | 9AM

Have you been wanting to give back to the Austin community? Well this is your chance. Join thousands of other Austinites and volunteer to improve the city’s local parks and greenbelt! Plus, you get a free shirt and some good discounts at local businesses in the process.

 

East Side Cool Party | Blue Owl Brewing | 12PM

Saturday afternoons are meant to be spent with friends and family, so think about bringing them with you to Blue Owl Brewing for a great time! Ooga Booga Waffles food truck will be dishing out plenty of good food while you’re there. There’s even going to be games and contests for prizes! Of course, drinks will be served too!

Karaoke Apocalypse | The Highball | 10PM

It’s hard to not love karaoke. If you’re inclined to sing, it’s your opportunity to impress. If not, then it’s a still great time to sit back and watch as people pressure their friends into getting on stage. Either way, it’s bound to be a fun time! So come hang out at The Highball for a night of hard-rock karaoke performed with a live band!

The ATX Brunchfest | Palm Door on Sixth | 11AM

Did you have a stressful week? Well then take this opportunity to destress and prepare for the upcoming week by joining yoga instructor Lizzie Aguirre at SoulFull. All are welcome to come out to the Seaholm Power Lawn for his community yoga and meditation experience! Proceeds from the event will be going to the Safe Alliance charity.
