We Are Blood needs your help now more than ever. The exclusive provider of blood and platelets to more than 40 Central Texas hospitals and medical centers in Central Texas is facing a blood donation shortage due to the coronavirus pandemic.
With hundreds of mobile drive cancellations, We Are Blood is urging healthy individuals to donate blood at their donor centers. About 200 blood donations are needed per day to continue sufficient blood supply.
Although the pandemic has affected the organization’s ability to host blood drives around the community routinely, you can still find We Are Blood setup at Whataburger locations, Wolf Ranch Town Center, Arboretum and Lakeway’s Activity Center.
You can visit their donor centers, open weekly, in Round Rock, Central Austin and off Slaughter Lane. An appointment is required and can be done on the We Are Blood website, or by giving them a call at your convenience. Your donation will help save lives of Central Texans.
Face coverings are required throughout the entire visit.
