With Austin City Limits Music Festival right around the corner, The University of Texas is partnering with C3 Presents to introduce their own live music concert series before every home football game. Starting on Sept. 8 with blues singer Jimmie Vaughn, Darrell K Royal Stadium is naming this event “Longhorn City Limits” festival. Located on the LBJ Lawn outside of the stadium on UT’s campus, the concerts will be free to the public with drink specials and concessions including food from Stubb’s BBQ.
For this upcoming weekend, the Texas Longhorns will be playing the TCU Horned Frogs at 3:30pm located at DKR Stadium on Sept. 22. Before the game, Longhorn City Limits will be hosting their second concert with iconic R&B singer Aloe Blacc and Austin360’s “Breakout Artist of the Year” Jackie Venson.
“I think [Longhorn City Limits] is a really good way for students and their families to get involved before a home game,” said UT student Katie Yeager. “The name ‘Longhorn City Limits’ catches the attention of students and ties it back to something we are all excited for so I think this event will have a great turnout over these next couple of weeks.”
