This time around, the band is approaching the new album in untraditional ways, and promised a “spontaneous delivery of episodes throughout the year.” The group released the first episode today, January 30th, featuring British MC slowthai and the punk duo Slaves called “Momentary Bliss.” Check it out below.

Gorillaz recently released a statement saying they feel that in this fast paced world, it is important to break the mold and to always be ready to drop new modern music. Unfortunately, after all the teasing, you won’t be seeing the band tour anytime soon.
The band revealed that even though they have new material ready for the next record, they are postponing the release of new music and touring until around 2028. The band wants to “even it out” since there wasn’t that much time between their most recent album The Now Now, released in 2018, and their previous album Humanz, from 2017.
