It’s been almost eight years since Fiona Apple released her last album, The Idler Wheel.
During this time, Apple was working on her latest release Fetch the Bolt Cutters. The new studio album was recorded in Apple’s Venice Beach home, and she didn’t hold back on getting experimental with the ongoing project. The singer-songwriter created her own percussion with household items like rubber bands, oil cans and baked seedpods. Apple’s dogs even made a vocal appearance.
Assembling all these songs at home seems fitting for this time period, as people around the world are in quarantine. Many are commending Apple for her perfect timing on unveiling Fetch the Bolt Cutters. The connection to the new album is prominent, as critics are predicting it to be album of the year.
