The Black Keys released their tenth studio album, Delta Kream, earlier this month. The album, a tribute to southern blues, is a collection of classic covers, such as John Lee Hooker’s “Crawling Kingsnake” and R. L. Burnside’s “Poor Boy a Long Way from Home.” The songs were recorded over the course of two afternoons by Auerbach and Carney at Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound studio in Nashville.
The album is a follow up to the band’s 2019 Let’s Rock. Though the two offer totally different listening experiences, they are both distinctly albums from The Black Keys. Delta Kream provides laidback instrumentation infused with breakout guitar riffs characteristic of traditional Mississippi blues.
The Black Keys are set to headline the Pilgrimage Music Festival this year in Franklin, Tennessee along with the Dave Matthews Band and Cage the Elephant. Tickets are on sale now.
