The Beatles had some of their own hits that originated in the iconic home, including “I Saw Her Standing There” and “When I’m 64.”

The house that is now owned by the National Trust will open later this spring and will be the home to The Forthlin Sessions. Artists that will have the chance to write and play music in the same house as The Beatles will be selected by McCartney’s brother Mike McCartney and local partners.

“This house to me, is a house of hope. And I hope it will be for the young people that come through the doors,” Mike McCartney told Sky News. “In there were what turned out to be two of the world’s greatest songwriters, McCartney and Lennon. They were rehearsing from a school book on the floor, that’s why this house is so unique.”

“I think it’s a brilliant idea,” said Mike McCartney. “Inviting young people to this house and giving them the opportunity of doing the same as us, coming from nothing and seeing where it takes them.”
