The Met Gala is an annual event held on the first Monday of May in New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The Gala, which is prominently known for setting a theme attendees must follow, has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, that didn’t stop the organizers to come up with an alternate plan.
An online event will take its place this year. The digital show is called A Moment With The Met, and it will air 5pm CT today, May 4 on Vogue’s YouTube Channel.
Florence + The Machine will be doing a special performance for the online show and Kanye West is set to DJ.
Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief pof Vogue, said she “asked a few friends to join [her] for a simple moment, one that [she] hopes will bring us all a bit of joy.”
Just last month Florence + The Machine released a single titled “Light of Love.” Proceeds from the song will be donated to Intensive Care Society, which offers care and support frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
