Lorde’s ethereal track “Mood Ring” is here, along with an even more reposeful music video.
The New Zealand artist drops her third album Solar Power this Friday, August 20. So far, she’s released three singles from the upcoming full-length record. “Mood Ring” follows “Stoned at the Nail Salon” and the title track.
In the latest music video, Lorde escapes reality and floats away. The spiritual energy transcends even more in the artist’s “Mood Ring” visual as Lorde meditates, utilizes crystals and lights a sage among a girls circle. That’s pretty much the ideal starter pack for Lorde’s new material, and we’re completely supportive towards it.
The dream-pop artist said “Mood Ring” is an escape from societal behavior. Lorde released a statement about her latest track and new album, saying, “Obviously when making this album I did a deep-dive into 60s, Flower Child culture. I wanted to understand the commune life, dropping out from society and trying to start again. That really resonated to me when writing this album.”
