Watch: Wild Child Releases “My Town” Music Video

Wild Child in the Dell Music Lounge

There is something special about the quiet towns found in the pockets of Texas and Austin-native band, Wild Child, set out to experience that magic in their newest music video for “My Town” off their fourth record, Expectations. Filmed on a small ranch near the border of Mexico, the band moved west to put visuals next to the enlightening lyrics of “My Town”.

The video shows eerie overhead shots of West Texas plains, stone ruins, and a burning house. Lead vocalist Kelsey Wilson sings with powerful emotion behind mysterious scenes in the music video, adding to the meaning behind the tune.

Giving insight on the production and filming of the song, Wilson said, “[My Town] was very emotional to write and hear come to life in the studio, and it feels even more powerful with the backdrop of the Texas desert behind it. My Town was written from a very dark and isolated place and singing it in a ghost town in West Texas felt hauntingly appropriate. We all had a lot of powerful moments out there together.”

Along with Wild Child’s release of the “My Town” music video, concert dates for the winter leg of the Expectations tour were added. Head over to the Wild Child website to find the closest show near you.
