Austin Wildlife Rescue.

Have you heard of Austin Wildlife Rescue? They’re a nonprofit who, “rehabilitates and releases orphaned, injured, and sick animals.” Their goal is to also educate the public in Austin and Central Texas to coexist with wildlife. Since 1977, the AWR has helped almost 10,000 animals! They are NOT a drop off for exotic pets that people abandon. AWR services native animals that are displaced by construction, found on someone’s property, or displaced by the elements.

Interview with AWR Operation Manager, Jules.

Call 512-472-9453 if you have ANY questions!

The best first step before you move or attempt to “help” wildlife you find, is to call AWR. They can walk you through what to do, if you need to bring the animal in, or if you should just leave it alone.
