Kick off the holiday weekend with a Round Rock Express game Friday night. The Express hosts the Oklahoma City Dodgers at the Dell Diamond for Hall of Fame Night, where they’ll be  honoring coach and former pitcher, Kirk Saarloos. Tickets start at $12.

Longhorn City Limits w/ Charley Crockett | LBJ Lawn | 3PM

With Texas Football back in season, comes the return of Longhorn City Limits. The free game day concert series kicks off Saturday with Charley Crockett headlining on the LBJ lawn. Concertgoers ages 21 and up can enjoy drinks and refreshments from Still Austin and Tito’s. Free.

 

Texas Longhorns vs Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks | DKR Texas Memorial Stadium | 7PM

College Football Season kicks off on Saturday with the Texas Longhorns battling the  Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks on Saturday night. Though Texas is unranked in the AP Top 25, they are heavily favored to win the season opener. Grab tickets here.

 

Peterson Brothers Band | Antone’s | 8PM

Local duo Peterson Brothers will be bringing their blues/soul/funk/jazz band to Antone’s on Saturday night. The brothers will be celebrating guitarist/vocalist Glenn Peterson’s birthday. Tickets are $20.

 

Sunday, September 4th

Farmer’s Market | Hill Country Galleria | 10AM

The Lone Star Farmers Market kicks off at 10AM every Sunday at the Hill Country Galleria. Support local business and sustainable agriculture by shopping for locally grown fruits and vegetables as well as handmade crafts and more. Free

 

Robert Plant & Alison Krauss | Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park | 7PM

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss bring their “Raising the Roof” Tour to the Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park on Sunday. Their album, Raising the Roof, dropped last November and is the second collaboration since 2007’s Raising Sand, the music legends have put out together. Tickets start at $50.

 

Ryan Bingham w/ The Texas Gentlemen | Whitewater Music Amphitheater | 8PM

Head down to New Braunfels to catch Ryan Bingham with full band playing on the river, under the stars at the Whitewater Music Amphitheater. Show will feature The Texas Gentlemen supporting and performing with Bingham. Tickets are $45.

Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and head on up to Round Rock to enjoy a FREE Labor Day Concert on the lawn provided by the AFM of Austin. Featuring face painting, balloon art and food trucks, it should be fun for the whole family. FREE
