Smashing Pumpkins Bring Out Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath for 30th Anniversary Show

Billy Corgan and Mark McGrath on stage in New Jersey

Last night’s Smashing Pumpkins 30th Anniversary show in New Jersey was a star-studded night to remember – with featuring acts like Courtney Love, Deftones’ Chino Moreno, Joy Division’s Peter Hook, The Killers members, and Sugar Ray’s former front man Mark McGrath. The stacked set list included covers of Led Zeppelin (Stairway to Heaven), Judas Priest (Breaking the Law), each guests’ respective former bands, and a 1979 rendition with Dave Keuning and Mark Stoermer of The Killers.

McGrath, who filmed several of the tour’s background visuals, made his appearance with the band last night with a surprise performance of “Fly,” the 1997 Sugar Ray hit. He then joined them for a wild cover of Judas Priest’s 1980 hit “Breaking the Law.”

Watch McGrath perform “Fly” and “Breaking the Law” on stage with the Smashing Pumpkins below:
