Spoon Performance/Interview [SXSW 2017]
In 2017, Spoon stopped by ACL Radio’s SXSW Live Morning Broadcast in support of their album Hot Thoughts to play the title track “Hot Thoughts” and “I Ain’t the One.”
The Austin Rock band continued to show support by joining ACL Stands With Austin, a special telethon fundraiser that benefits the music and service industry workers that were affected by cancellation of South by Southwest because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Spoon’s Britt Daniel shared a recorded acoustic rendition of “The Agony of Laffitte” in addition to other special at-home performances from Austin-based musicians like Shakey Graves, Hanson, Lisa Lobeb, and more. Take a look at the full performance below.
Fitz & The Tantrums Full Performance/Interview [Music Lounge]
We welcomed Fitz & The Tantrums back to the Dell Music Lounge for an interview and full performance of hit songs “HandClap,” “Out of My League,” “Burn It Down,” and “The Walker” from their self titled album.
Following the release of their 2016 album, the band revealed their fourth studio album, All The Feels, last September. Fitz & The Tantrums had been on the road in support of their new album, and were set to headline several festival shows this Summer, however in the thick of the global COVID-19 pandemic, all live performances were delayed. After you refresh yourself with Fitz & The Tantrums’ previous performance from the Dell Music Lounge, take a look at the official video for the title track from their album below.
The Aces “Stuck” [ACL 2017]
The Aces joined ACL Radio’s 2017 Morning Broadcast at Austin City Limits to perform “Stuck.”
After two years of silence since their debut album in 2018, The Aces returned with their latest singles, “Lost Angeles” and “Daydream.” The release of “Daydream” was later accompanied by a cinematic music video that premiered on Refinery29. In one week, the music video accumulated over 1.5 million streams and was placed in Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist in more than 18 countries. If you want the all girl band to visit Austin, go to theacesofficial.com and vote for the chance to win an official listening party for their upcoming album hosted by The Aces themselves.
X Ambassadors “Unsteady” [SXSW 2016]
Bright and early in the morning, X Ambassadors dropped in to perform “Unsteady” live at our Live Morning Broadcast during SXSW in 2016.
The band has continued to stay busy by releasing their acclaimed sophomore album, Orion, in 2019 and headed out on an extensive international headline tour. In March, X Ambassadors followed up the album with the EP, Belong, featuring songs that “didn’t quite fit” on Orion, but still needed to be revealed to the world. The EP includes previously released song “Everything Sounds Like A Love Song” in addition to “Belong” and “Happy Home.” Even though the upcoming dates of their tour have been postponed, the band is continuing to entertain their fans by going live on Instagram and Facebook every week to help raise money for the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund.
Walk the Moon “Shut Up & Dance” [ACL 2015]
In 2015, Walk the Moon performed their renowned single “Shut Up and Dance” with us at Austin City Limits Festival.
Since their performance at ACL Fest, the band released album, What If Nothing in 2017, which debuted at #6 on the U.S. iTunes chart, and in 2019, released stand alone singles “Timebomb” “Eat Your Heart Out” and “Lose You Again” featuring BRAVES. Like the rest of us, Walk the Moon has been staying at home amidst the Coronavirus outbreak. The band regularly interrupts their Instagram feed with live stream performances to help bring awareness and raise money for healthcare workers. Make sure you keep out on their social media platforms for more upcoming opportunities to hang out, hear striped down performances, stories and more from the musical group.
