Declan McKenna “Brazil” [LIVE SXSW 2016]

In 2015, Declan McKenna won the Glastonbury Festival’s Emerging Talent Competition. His smash single “Brazil” reached #1 on Sirius XM Radio’s Alt Nation. The lyrics on this pop indie rock tune criticizes the FIFA organization, specifically the FIFA World Cup of 2014, as that’s when the song was initially released. His new album Zeros is out August 2020.

Carson McHone “Maybe They’re Just Really Good Friends” [LIVE ACL 2017]

McHone started off playing weeknights at local bars here in Austin. Her debut album Goodluck Man released in 2015 caught the ears of country fans with the smooth vocals and twangy guitar licks. Rolling Stone added her as one of “10 New Country Artists You Need To Know” in 2017. A year later, they named her second album Carousel one of the “40 Best Country and Americana Albums of 2018.”

Amber Mark “Love Is Stronger Than Pride” [LIVE ACL 2018]

Producer, singer, and songwriter Amber Mark released her first project 3:33am in 2017. She was nominated for a Grammy in 2019 for engineering Chromeo’s Head Over Heels. She has released three EPs since then, the most recent being 1894 released in April of this year. Stream it now.

The Walkmen “Orange Sunday” [LIVE Music Lounge 2012]

The Walkmen have been playing indie rock music with a vintage tone since the two bands, Jonathan Fire*Eater and The Recoys, broke up. Members from each of the bands organized a new band, The Walkmen, and began recording under Startime International in Brooklyn. They released their debut album, Everyone Who Pretended To Like Me Is Gone. This album garnered attention from fans and critics alike, a song from this record was even featured on a Saturn car commercial.

Walter Martin, Walkmen member, recently released a quarantine themed song:

Nada Surf “Teenage Dreams” [LIVE SXSW 2012]

New York rock band, Nada Surf, was formed in the 1990’s by Matthew Caws, Ira Elliot, and Daniel Lorca. They have released nine albums since then, their most recent being Never Not Together released this year. NPR’s “All Songs Considered” has named Nada Surf as “one of the most consistently rewarding bands.”
