Glass Animals “Gooey” + Interview [ACL 2015]
Glass Animals hung out with us back in 2015 at our Live Morning Broadcast during ACL Fest for an interview and performance of “Gooey.”
While in lockdown, Glass Animals’ frontman Dave Bayley has been staying busy with his new ‘Quarantine Covers’ Youtube series. He covered some all-time classics including rednitions of Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box,” Lana Del Rey’s “Young & Beautiful, Bill Withers’
“Lean On Me,” and most recently, Drake‘s massive hit, “Hotline Bling” joined by Arlo Park. By popular demand, Glass Animals unveiled a new EP on all streaming platforms called “Quarantine Covers Part 1” featuring the first two covers in his series. Aside from launching the YouTube series, the band launched a new website to encourage creativity during this time in self-isolation. The website offers unseen photos, videos and GIFs, Instagram lenses, layered artwork, audio stems, and more, all available for fans to download. Third Eye Blind Interview/Performance [SXSW 2017]
Third Eye Blind performed “Shipboard Cook” and”Jumper” live at ACL Radio’s Live Morning Broadcast during SXSW in 2017.
Earlier this month, Third Eye Blind dropped a four-song EP titled So Alone, So Alive, that they collaborated online to record while self-isolating. The EP includes updated live versions of “Losing a Whole Year,” “Ways,” “The Kids Are Coming (to Take You Down),” and the title track from their latest album, Screamer, featuring Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells. The EP is released for free, but the band is asking their fans to make a donation to Live Nation’s global relief fund, which supports live music crews that have been put out of work due to coronavirus concerns.
Third Eye Blind was set to kick off a spring tour in support of Screamer in March, but it has since been rescheduled until June.
Vance Joy “Lay It On Me” [ACL 2017]
In 2017, Vance Joy performed “Lay It On Me” at our ACL Fest Broadcast.
Vance Joy has notably been participating in several televised events including the “Together At Home Campaign” on March 24. Vance Joy perfomed some of his popular hits including “Riptide,” “Emmylou,” “Mess is Mine,” and a cover of Gerry Rafferty’s “Right Down the Line.” You can watch his full perfomace below. Earlier this month, the Australian singer continued to share content with his fans by releasing never-before-seen shots from his Nation of Two world tour on his YouTube. It features live footage from his performance at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena in September 2018.
Bishop Briggs “White Flag” [SXSW 2018]
Bishop Briggs stopped by our Live Morning Broadcast during SXSW to perform her hit song “White Flag” in 2018.
Bishop Briggs released her sophomore album, Champion last November and concluded the year with a multi-city tour. Unfortunately, stay-at-home orders have disrupted many live events taking place this year. Last Sunday, the musician took to Instagram to raise money for COVID-19 in her own creative way by selling some of her old Polaroids. She has continued to spread her amazing talent by giving her fans a cover “Oh Happy Day” from Sister Act II, where she not only sang lead, but recorded all the choir parts too. Hozier “Take Me To Church” [ACL 2018]
During Austin City Limit Music Festival in 2018, Hozier performed “Take Me To Church” LIVE at Threadgill’s.
With much of the world still under stay-at-home orders, Hozier has been utilizing his large platform to raise money for charity on multiple occasions. Earlier this month, the global superstar released a live performance of “The Parting Glass” as a single to raise funds for children in unsafe homes who are unable to leave due to the effective lock down. The Irish singer also released a rendition of the song “Friday” to raise funds for the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (ISPCC). On April 3rd, Hozier hosted a Live At-Home concert to raise money for Downtown Women’s Center, which focuses on serving and empowering women experiencing homelessness and formerly homeless women in Los Angeles, in addition to joining the “One World: Together at Home” worldwide benefit concert in support of healthcare workers in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. Way to go Hozier!
