Maggie Rogers “Alaska” [SXSW 2017]
Maggie Rogers joined us bright and early back in 2017 for our Live Morning Broadcast during SXSW. The artist performed “Alaska” off her debut album Heard It In A Past Life. Rogers was actually scheduled for two Texas shows in April, but unfortunately canceled those stops due to the coronavirus epidemic. However, 2021 is looking quite different for the singer-songwriter. Rogers will perform at the Primavera Sound Music Festival next year in June. The festival was set to celebrate their 20th anniversary, but was pushed back to 2021. Joining in on the lineup with Rogers includes The Strokes, Beck, The National, and Tame Impala.

Shakey Graves “Pansy Waltz” [ACL 2013]
Alejandro Rose-Garcia, aka Shakey Graves, hung out with us backstage at ACL Fest in 2013 for an acoustic performance of “Pansy Waltz.”
The artist recently launched an auction for various charities, including Central Texas Food Bank and the Newport Festivals Foundation. Shakey Graves took to Instagram to show the “dearest travel treasures that [he has] decided to part with for a good cause.” Garcia announced earlier this week that he and his fans raised more than 20 thousand dollars from the auction.
Earlier this year Garcia released a three part documentary, prior to quarantine, and music video project called Hello Gorgeous. Each episode features an unreleased song and never-before-seen studio footage. The final episode of the project premiered on May 4. Garcia commented on the final episode of the project, saying, “Having this in the wings during this outbreak has given me a sense of connection to my band mates, friends, and fans that I wasn’t expecting. It’s a good reminder to trust your weird instincts no matter which direction you THINK the road is taking you.”

ZZ Ward “Put the Gun Down”
ZZ Ward stopped by the Austin City Limits Radio studio for an intimate on-air performance of her classic song “Put the Gun Down.”
Earlier this year Ward released a new track called “Break Her Heart,” and dropped a live version of the tune in early May. Check it out below.

The Strumbellas “Spirits” [SXSW 2016]
The Strumbellas executed a lively performance at the crack of dawn with us in 2016! The band joined us at our Live Morning Broadcast during SXSW to perform “Spirits” from their 2016 album Hope. The lively rendition definitely had the crowd moving in the early morning. Check it out.
Although the band had to postpone their Canadian tour this year, the group found other ways to stay connected with their fans. Last month they teamed up with CBS Music for their Music’s First Play Live series and released a watch party for fans to tune and chat with them. They’ve also hosted a Netflix Party! Fans were able to join in on the interactive movie night with the band, be sure you’re following them on Instagram so you don’t miss out on the next virtual movie hangout.
Jade Bird “Cathedral” [ACL 2017]
The lovely Jade Bird hung out with backstage at ACL Fest and performed her tune “Cathedral.”
Like every other artist around the world, Jade Bird could no longer continue this year’s tour. In Bird’s announcement, she said it was a difficult decision to postpone her U.S. and U.K. tour. “The health of my fans, band, team and colleagues is the most important thing as we all deal with this horrible virus and it would be irresponsible of us to press ahead.”
The postponement isn’t stopping the artist from performing for her fans, even if it’s virtual. Bird announced that she will be doing live performance on May 29 in partnership with Microsoft Surface. Make sure to follow Bird on Instagram to get notified on when she’ll be live.
