Too many things to choose from this weekend? Don’t worry, we got you covered. We’re starting this week’s weekend guide on THURSDAY since there is plenty do during SXSW that doesn’t require a badge or wristbands! ACL-Radio’s Live Morning Broadcast | Hotel Van Zandt | 8am, Thurs-Sat
ACL Radio loves SXSW! We are so excited to be able to do a live series again, so join us for our annual Live Morning Broadcast during SXSW through March 19th at Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt. For a $5 donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, you’ll enjoy 4-hours of exclusive, live interviews and performances from featured SXSW artists. More info here
Balanced Breakfast Showcase | The Jackalope | 12pm-6:30pm
This 2-day free event will feature 22 prominent bands from San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, Austin, and more at the Jackalope on east 6th street. You do have to register to get in, so follow this link for more information!
St. Patrick’s Day in The Park at Indeed Tower | West 6th Street | 4pm
Under the emerald glow of the tower’s sparkling 20-foot tall light art installation, The Kilroy Star, attendees can enjoy live music and performances from Austin’s famed Celtic band The Here & Now and the dancers of the Irish Dance Center to honor Irish Heritage this St. Patrick’s Day. SXSW Outdoor Stage at Ladybird Lake | Thurs-Sat | Doors at 4pm
The much-anticipated free outdoor stage show at Lady Bird Lake for SXSW begins! A staple of the community to support the community with each show benefiting a Nonprofit.The lineup for Thursday features austin bands Croy and the Boys, Heartless Bastards, Golden Dawn Arkestra, …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, and Kalu and the Electric Joint. Party In the Park ‖ Easy Tiger East | 8am – 5pm
Easy Tiger’s East Austin location is transforming into to a “Party in the Park” on Friday and Saturday this weekend for SXSW, hosting bands from 1pm to 5pm. Stop by the expansive outdoor park for an opportunity to slow down with Easy classics for breakfast and lunch, as well as coffee, wine, cocktails and craft beer. Find more info here
Movie Night in the Pasture: Jurassic Park ‖ Jester King Brewery | 7pm-11pm
Need to escape the music parties for a minute and just chill? Head to Jester King Brewery’s Pasture for Movie Night! This week they will be featuring Jurassic Park. This event is free and open to the public, but don’t forget your blankets and camping chairs! Get to Jester King early to save your spot.
